Ancient Egyptians and Teeth Whitening

Well first off I want to say Thank God we are not living in those time's anymore.  What the Egyptians had to do for a white smile was so painful or disgusting in my opinion!  It just goes to show how some people will do most anything for a brighter whiter smile.

In Ancient Rome, whitening one’s teeth was often accomplished using urine (I told you disgusting).

Ammonia, which is found in urine, is also a cleaning agent that can kill bacteria. The ancient Egyptians would whiten their teeth with a mixture of pulverized pumice and wine vinegar.

Strangely enough, centuries later, teeth whitening methods got worse! In the 1800s they used to whiten teeth by filing them down (OUCH) and then washing them in nitric acid (Are you kidding me). This also destroyed the protective enamel of the teeth (You think?).

It is amazing that people sat through this just for a whiter smile. 90% of people say the first thing they notice about someone is their smile.   Now you can get a brighter, whiter smile, with no filing, no urine, no pain in only 20 minutes with WhiteScience patented technology.  Spawhite is safe and effective.  Using 36% carbamide Peroxide converted to 1/3 or 12% hydrogen Peroxide.

How to whiten your teeth at bed time:

  • Brush your teeth with an automatic tooth brush, being careful not to push to hard so your enamel is not removed. Sprinkle some baking soda on your toothbrush and brush teeth.

  • Floss making sure that your not just pushing in then out, which is bad for your gums. Make sure you are scraping the sides of your teeth with the floss and paying special attention to your posterior teeth. Rinse

  • Drink some water and wait about five minutes. Use your WhiteIce Stick roll over teeth and go to sleep. WhiteIce will activate with the saliva in your mouth and remove stains while you sleep.  Great Minty Flavor.

    1. Very interesting history!

Do your best not to get them yellow in the first place. Stay away from coffee and tobacco (and meth). If you don't want cavities stay away from pop. I don't know how many people realize this but the acid in soda rips your enamel right off, then the sugar does its thing. Meat is none too savory either if you don't brush and floss right after a meal. Rots. Yuck.

    2. Absolutely correct! Basically any food that is acidic will do the same. You must rinse your mouth out emmediately after eating or drinking any acidic/sugary foods within one hour. Wiping your teeth with a wet cloth will also help prvent the enamel erosion.

    3. Nice! Those are some good tips. I will pass on the urine rinse but everything else sounds good; although I do neglect flossing.
